News from Agilyx, Northeast Recycling Council and more

Packaging firm AeroFlexx announced it received patents for a mono-material flexible plastic packaging that is designed to act like a rigid bottle in the recycling stream.

Chemical recycling firm Agilyx announced that its European-focused feedstock sourcing joint venture, Plastyx, has executed memorandums of understanding covering 150,000 metric tons of scrap plastic. Plastyx aims to source material from Europe and supply it to the global chemical recycling industry.

The Association of Plastic Recyclers announced that Kiwa Netherlands has become a certification body for APR’s PCR Certification Program. That makes Kiwa the first certification body that can perform audits for both the APR program and RecyClass, the European-centered certification program.

Chemical Recycling Europe concluded a life cycle analysis project evaluating chemical recycling processes.

A collaboration between Keep America Beautiful, TerraCycle and Grand Teton Lodge Company established a bear-resistant recycling drop-off station and other recycling infrastructure improvements at Grand Teton National Park with a grant from the National Park Foundation.

The Northeast Recycling Council published its quarterly commodity value survey for the first quarter of 2025.

Oregon Senate Bill 551, which extends the state’s point-of-sale plastic bag ban to cover thicker reusable plastic and fabric bags at retail establishments and restaurants, passed both legislative chambers in the state.

The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association, also known as Consignaction, reported positive results three months after Quebec’s container deposit system rolled out the next phase of a larger modernization project.
